Why “Nefarious”
Why “Nefarious”
Definition; Evil; Wicked; Sinful
I often think of this quote by Nelson Mandela; “When a man is denied the right to live the life he believes in, he has no choice but to become an outlaw.”
Or you can even get a little biblical and look to Isaiah 5:20 “Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness…”
So what the hell am I talking about?
We definitely find ourselves in a time where good has become bad and bad has become good. Our freedoms are dwindling and hanging by a thread. Our inalienable rights are being attacked daily and falling by the wayside. Our freedom of speech has fallen under a barrage of hellfire that comes in the form of censorship and social cancellations. Our second amendment is, pardon the pun, constantly taking fire from those very people who we have put into office. The very people who have sworn to uphold and protect our constitution.
So what the hell does this have to do with motorcycle apparel?
Motorcycles have always, since the first man threw his leg over the very first motorcycle, have given man a sense of freedom that he can find nowhere else. We ride to be free. We ride to get away from the bullshit. We ride because its just plain fuckin awesome.
We have always been the counter culture. We have always thrown our middle finger up to “the man”. And I don’t care if you are a lone wolf, ride with a family club or ride with one of those notorious clubs that we all know the names of. In my mind we are all out looking for and finding the same thing.
Freedom.
So as the world around us shits on our freedoms more and more everyday and calls those of us who tell them to fuck off, evil, well I guess the only thing left to do is own it.
So fuck it, we say brand yourself. Wear it proudly. Show it to the world. We are the last bastion of freedom.
They can create whatever society they want to and we are going to simply choose not to live within it.
When they call the life you live wicked, evil, or sinful.
When they call us nefarious.
I say you’re goddam right we’re Nefarious!
